Helsinki with the Hendriksen family

Just to confuse everyone, we went to Helsinki for a few days to visit friends 'on our way' back to England.

Our friends have the most beautiful house in a stunning location and we hardly needed to move from the house and garden. Reuben and Claire took moments to remember that they had been great friends in Cameroon, and the rest of us had fun too.

We played in the snow in the garden, where the Hendriksens have built ice forts, snow heaps and small sledging runs,

we made Finish pastries, went to church and sang Christmas Carols in Finnish, had a 'movie night', shared traditional Christmas pineapple, enjoyed the sauna, went sledging,

followed a christmas trail

 

drove on bridges across frozen sea 

 

and picked Josh up from the School with the coolest possible route home...
